Unique development set to transform landscape, offer placemaking for residents
New Haven, Ind.— M2 Investments and New Haven city leaders celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony today for The Gateway apartments, an innovative residential development situated on the north side of New Haven. Nestled at the corner of Parent and Landin Rd., The Gateway is set to feature 60 two-bedroom units, filling a crucial gap in the community by providing high-quality, market-rate housing. The Gateway serves as the inaugural phase of a broader project that will add more residential options in the coming years.
Taking the lead in this venture is M2 Investments, a prominent player in multifamily housing. Mark Muselman, president of M2, hails from Berne, Indiana, just 35 miles south of New Haven.
Muselman expressed his excitement being a part of the growth occurring in New Haven and northeast Indiana. He emphasized M2’s commitment to the region goes beyond mere investment, they aim to be an integral part of the community for decades to come.
The strategic location of The Gateway provides residents with convenience, featuring a walking trail to downtown New Haven and proximity to grocery stores and restaurants. The development will offer additional amenities such a clubhouse, pickleball court and pool, highlighting M2’s dedication to fostering a vibrant community with a focus on placemaking.
“By cultivating an environment that promotes social interactions and enhances overall well-being, The Gateway will install a sense of belonging and pride among its residents,” said Muselman.
M2 Investments collaborated closely with New Haven Mayor Steve McMichael, City Council members, and the City’s economic development team, forming a robust partnership aimed at driving sustainable growth in the region.
Mayor McMichael shared his optimism stating, “We firmly believe that The Gateway will bring about a positive transformation in our community. Our objective is to attract more residents to New Haven, and pivotal developments like The Gateway significantly contribute to our overarching vision. The construction of The Gateway will be overseen by builder Josh Barkley, recognized across the industry for delivering high-quality homes. Financing for the project was secured through collaboration with First Bank of Berne. With units being expected to be available late 2024, The Gateway stands poised to become a transformative force in the New Haven real estate landscape.
